Got Inspired

A friend from years ago "friend requested" me on FB today, and I saw that she had a blog. I went to go check it out, and I remembered how fun it is to blog and look at the fun pictures etc. So, here I am making a blog entry because my friend's blog inspired me. We just got back from spending a much needed break in MN and it was SO refreshing for us. To be in the sun and fresh air and cool water was just what we needed.

We are still evacuated from our home, and Bob spends time at our flooded house everyday making progress on fixing the place back up. (we still have to access it by boat...can't get in by car yet.) It has been a very interesting summer to say the least. It has stretched me in a lot of ways, and through it all, I see the Lord teaching me some very valuable lessons. Lessons that I could not have learned had our life continued as normal. So, despite the trial of it all, I am thankful that the Lord is using this time to mold and shape me. I am better for it.

I am excited because myself and one of my business partners will be starting 2 Transitions Lifestyle classes at the end of September. If you have read my past posts, you will know how Transitions Lifestyle classes literally changed my life, and that is why I am an instructor now. The exciting thing is that we are doing one class here in Bismarck, and we are doing another class via phone for LONG DISTANCE students!!! This is super exciting and can't wait to get started. I keep in touch with all my past students as well, and we are doing a little 3 Week Slimdown that I am looking forward to. It is amazing how fulfilling it is to help people be healthy...no gimmicks, just be healthy and loose weight.

We are starting our "official" schoolyear tomorrow. We have a super fun homeschooling day planned for tomorrow, so we are all looking forward to that. We will be doing some various "school-type" activities in the morning, then in the afternoon, a bunch of homeschoolers are going to the lake to go swimming, so we will be joining in on that fun!

Wow...it felt good to blog again.....maybe I should do this more often....

Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh, i just love the holidays. My brother and sister-in-law and nephew are here to spend Thanksgiving with us. It is great to have them here. I only wish they could come more often, or live closer.

Bob has had an incredibly busy fall, but now his schedule is slowing down (purposefully). We are excited to have a normal routine with him around. His back has been continuing to improve everyday. We give all glory and praise to God for that. His back still isn't "normal", but we thank God that he is functional now, and can enjoy life.

Aspen

I was in Aspen for a wedding this past weekend. It was incredible. I have never been to Aspen before, and wow, was it amazing!! The wedding was gorgeous. The ceremony took place on top of a mountain (had to take a gondola to the top.). The reception was up there as well, and it overlooked the valley and mountains below--AMAZING!!!!

Update...

We started Tayva's homeschool preschool/kindergarten which she LOVES. I love to do it with her as well. It is a fun time for us to spend together. I usually keep Siri busy with coloring or a project of some sort--and she's always right by us, because she loves to be a part of the action!

Bob has been busy with speaking around the country. He's done a lot in our state, and also just got back from Texas and will be heading to Canada soon. I still maintain, "He travels a lot, but he isn't gone a lot." Meaning that yes, he does have to travel, but they always very quick trips--we can handle that. :) I adore my hubby, so I like to have him home all the time. :)

I am just about to wrap up our Transitions Lifestyle class--we have 2 weeks left. It has been incredible....again. The participants are having wild success and are feeling so much better. Every week, someone comes to me and says how good they feel and how much energy they have! I love that I can teach others how to live a healthy lifestyle so they enjoy it, AND feel better! What a blessing!!! I, myself lost almost 25 pounds when I took it, and I feel fabulous! Actually, weight loss wasn't even the main reason why I started the classes. I started because I didn't feel good....I felt bloated all the time, my stomach was constantly giving me trouble, and I was low on energy.....all around crummy. I have done a 180, and feeling GREAT! I love it that, through education, I can help empower others to change their lifestyle and feel great too!

We celebrated our 10th anniversary this summer. What a blessing! The time has gone by so fast! Tayva turned 4 in April and Siri turned 2 in August. There you have it...in a nutshell!

S'mores

This was so funny.

I had to run to the grocery store today, and I was picking up some peanuts for our camping expedition tomorrow. Behind me was a 25 yr old daughter with her 55/60 yr old mother. I was aware that they were behind me, but wasn't paying attention to what they were saying. They were standing in front of a S'more cardboard display (you know, it had pictures of s'mores with all the marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers...) All of a sudden , I heard this....

"How do you think you do it?"
"Somehow you get the chocolate and marshmallows inside the graham crackers."
"I think you roast them over a fire?? or maybe..oh wait, yeah, I think you put them over a fire or something."
"But how do you make look like a sandwich?"

I was so tickled by their questioning, I turned around with a big grin on my face and said,"Are you trying to figure out how to make a s'more?"

They looked at me and said, "Yes, how do you do it?" and they started laughing.

I razzed them a bit for not knowing how to make a s'more, then proceeded to tell them in the middle of the grocery store how to make a s'more. They said, "Yum!! That sounds so good!" and loaded up with enough supplies to go home and make s'mores! It was so funny. They thanked me, we all were laughing, and I told them I was so glad I was there to help them!

What a fitting story for my blog picture, huh? It made my evening.
