So Excited, I need a break!

Things are starting to roll! My brother from NC came home yesterday. I cannot wait for this Christmas! This will be the first Christmas in 8 years that we have all been together for Christmas in my parent's home. My sister-in-law from NC comes home on Sat along with my other brother and sister-in-law from AZ. Also, my aunt from SD will be here.

I am so excited to have all my family here, that I have decided to take a little break from blogging so I can fully enjoy them every minute that they are home!

After things settle down after christmas, I will resume blogging as before. Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas! God bless you and yours!

Fighting

Well, I have been fighting with this blog for a while now. All of a sudden, the picture of our daughter at the top of the page got narrowed down, so you could only see her face. Now the picture is so big and distorted. Well, I am tired for the night. Do you know how frustrating it is to be fighting with a computer? You can't even talk (or perhaps yell :) at it, and it doesn't talk back. Oh well, at least you can see the whole picture now. Anyone have any tips for me? I have NO idea what happened. I will continue to work on it.

Have a good Monday, everyone!!!!

A bad thing? Nah

- Is it bad that my daughter went to bed tonight with dirt under her fingernails because she was playing with grandpa in his workshop?

-Is it bad that my daughter had a red stain on her sweater because she was decorating sugar cookies with grandma today?

- Is it bad that Bob and I have 2 rented videos sitting on our coffee table that we didn't get a chance to watch because we had other constructive things to do?

- Is it bad that my kitchen is a mess because I spent the afternoon making a meal to deliver to my brother and sister-in-law who just had a baby?

Nah....I didn't think so.

New Auntie!!!!

I am a new auntie!! My brother and his wife had a baby girl this morning! We went to see her in the hospital and she is beautiful! I am so excited. Mommy and daddy are doing well too. My sister-in-law had a C-section, so she is sore from the surgery, but doing really well. The baby was 5 weeks early, so we were really praying for this little one. God answered our prayers in a mighty way! They named her Sophia Ann.

Every time I'm in the presence of such a new baby I can't help but think about God being the author and creator of life. It is His hands that molded and formed that little body. What a miracle life is!! Thank you God for such a BIG blessing that comes in such a small package!

I Admit it

OK, I admit it. I am totally not ready for Christmas!! I don't have my Christmas shopping done. I haven't done any baking. I actually do have the tree and a few decorations up. What is a girl to do?

Sometimes I feel like there is so much "to do". Laundry, cleaning, dishes, cooking, decorating for Christmas, making phone calls, paying bills etc, etc. And I must say that my husband helps with all this, and I still can't keep up.

I also have to admit that a lot of days, I just let it all go and play with Tayva; not because I am lazy, but because I could spend all day, every day "getting stuff done" and not have hardly spent any quality time with Tayva. (which defeats the purpose of being a stay-at-home mom) So, tomorrow, I will probably do a few loads of laundry and make supper, but leave the rest of the stuff on my "to do" list alone so I can spend time with my daughter. Already the time is going by so fast. I am glad I stop and take time for Tayva.

I will eventually get around to that Christmas list! HA!!

Snow Princess

This was Tayva's first real experience of "playing in the snow". It was pretty funny. She wasn't too sure about it. She didn't want to walk in it too much. She really liked being held while looking at it, however. She wanted to stay outside, but didn't want to touch or walk in the snow. Every time she sees snow now, she says, "snow, snow".

Crazy Happenings

Here are some of the crazy things that happened the past few days:

-Tayva took a bite out of a lime, thinking it was an apple. (she looked at me holding the lime after she bit into it, saying, "apple? apple?" while puckering her lips and squinting her eyes from the tartness)
-Tayva had her 1 1/2 year doctor's appt and they think she may have a mild sinus infection
-Tayva did REALLY well at her doctor's appts (that is indeed a crazy thing around here--she doesn't like being messed with by the doctor :)
-Tayva fell head first off our couch onto our hard wood floor. Yep, that made a mark!
-Bob drove all the way through the night to get home to us. He got home at 5 a.m. (now that's a dedicated daddy!!)
-Every time we drive by the horse that lives by our house, Tayva thinks he is "night-night"
-We are looking for a dining room table, and got a quote for $5000 for a table and chairs. Yeah right, like I would spend that much on a dining room table!! Especially with a toddler in the house-do they think I am nuts?? Umm....I guess we will keep looking.
-It is freezing here today-literally, and Bob's remote car starter decided not to work the one time that I actually drove the car (it works all the time otherwise!)
-Our doctor told us that Tayva is very intelligent because she has at least 100 words in her vocabulary, and he said the average amount of words for a child her age is 5 words. (I don't know if that is actually true, but being a proud parent, I can't pass up the opportunity to brag about my child!! You other parents know how that goes.)
-I got to enjoy a night out with my mom, and Bob watched Tayva. Thanks Bob!!!!

See, I told ya, life is never boring!
