Last night I took pictures of the different things we do in Tayva's bedtime routine. I did this so that I can make a poster board of her nighttime routine. That way, when I am in the hospital, if grandma comes over to put Tayva to bed, Tayva can show her our routine by showing her the poster board. Tomorrow I have to pick up the pictures and make the poster. I am kind of excited about it because I think Tayva will really like it.
I think that Bob is going to ask his parents to watch Tayva on Saturday morning for us so we can buckle down and get some of the last minute things ready for the baby. You know, some of those things that need to get done around the house. Kind of like if-I-don't-do-it-now,-I'll-never-get-it-done things. So, I am already making out a list for Saturday morning. It will feel really good to get er' done!
Oh, by the way, we saw Dan and Jackie at the state fair f0r those of you who were wondering. :)
She said they are going to do teams of 2 again for the next Biggest Loser. I can't wait for all those peaceful nights with nothing to do, so Bob and I can sit around and watch Biggest Loser--YEAH RIGHT!!!! :) We'll have to record it, and sneak it in between changing diapers and chasing Tayva around the house. What a blessing to have children-I'd rather be playing with them than watching TV any day.

We saw Dan and Jackie!
Do you remember these two from The Biggest Loser? We saw them this weekend. It was so fun! We stopped and talked to them. Dan is coming out with a new CD, so they are out promoting it. His mom was super friendly (he was too, we just talked to her more) They both still look really good. Seems like they have done a GREAT job keeping the weight off--good for them!!

Season of Bags
The other day I walked into my house, and there on the bench by the front door was bags. Bags of stuff. It seems like summer is the "season of bags". It seems like everytime I go somewhere, I am taking at least one or two bags with me. First of all, I need to take my purse. Then I have a bag that is an "activity bag" for Tayva (if we go to a restaurant or somewhere I need to keep her busy, I have books, stickers etc in this bag). Tayva is potty training, so I have a separate bag with an extra change of clothes, wipes etc . I have a bag that has things to take on the river or a day of swimming, and a separate bag for "beach toys". Oh yeah, and soon I'll have to add a diaper bag for the baby!
I am usually an organized person, so I don't like to consolidate the bags, and have one big bag. I would rather have multiple smaller bags, with each thing in it's place. I know, Im weird.
*Baby Update* - I had a doctor's appointment yesterday. I am 37 weeks. That means I have 3 more weeks to go (give or take). Being that I have gestational diabetes, they do a quick ultrasound each time to check the baby's movements and heartbeat etc. The baby scored "100%", so I was happy about that of course. We still do not have a name picked out...

Baby Name??
Well, I am getting more and more prepared for this baby!! We have the changing table up, Tayva helped me unpack the newborn clothes, and put them in the appropriate drawers, and I have the wipes and diapers set out. Tayva is such a sweetie when she helps me get ready for the baby. She is convinced that the changing table is where the baby is supposed to sleep. I really need to set up the co-sleeper, and explain to her that THAT is where the baby will sleep--that will probably help her.
These days, she walks around the house with her dolls a lot, and rocks them and holds them, and reads to them. It is so cute. Actually today, she set up her stuffed Eeyore, Tigger, Winnie the Pooh, and Piglet on the armrest of the couch, and sat in front of them and read stories to them. She loves to be "mommies helper", so hopefully, she will think the baby is really fun to have around so she can be a "good helper".
In the spirit of getting things ready, a question we get all the time is if we have a name picked out. We actually do not. We have a front-runner, but we are not at all decided on it for sure. We are always open to suggestions, and more than likely won't decide until right before the baby is born. So, we will be tossing around baby names for a while.

Standing by the garbage can
Today, we checked our mail. We hadn't checked it in a few days, so there was more than usual in our mailbox. After going through the first part of the mail, and making a "garbage" pile on the counter, I decided to just stand right over the garbage can as I went through the mail, since that is where most of it was going anyway. It just drives me crazy to get all the junk mail. For instance, I bought my sister-in-law a horse book for Christmas, and now the horse company sends me all these horse magazines and offers. I realize I should just have them take me off their mailing list, but that is more more phone call and thing I have to do.
This morning was great. Yesterday, Bob said, "Why don't you sleep in, in the morning, and I will take Tayva to run some errands." YIPPEE!!! That is like music to my ears!! So, this morning, Bob fed Tayva breakfast, got her dressed, and ran some errands. At about 10:30 a.m. he called and said they were on their way home. How awesome is that?? I loved being able to stay in bed until 10:30!! Plus, I figure, I better enjoy it while I can--no more of that once the baby comes!! :)

Update
So, I went to the urologist today. To make a long story short, he basically said that if I can handle the discomfort for now, we will leave things as is. Otherwise, if the pain is unbearable, they will have to do some diagnostic tests, and place a stint.
Being that I am feeling OK, we will wait and see what happens. He said that after the baby is born, when I feel ready, I need to go in for an x-ray and some other tests to check the kidney stone, and address it then.
So, I am praying that I have no further pain or discomfort, and can last until I deliver this baby. Then, hopefully we can take care of the kidney stone once things get back to "normal" after the baby is born.
Really though, I will be praying for a miraculous cure of this issue, so I don't need to deal with a kidney stone while trying to care for a newborn and a 2 year old!

Feeling the Pressure
Well, I went to the doctor yesterday and mentioned that I have been having some back pain. She ended up doing an ultrasound and believes I have a kidney stone!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? It seems like it is one thing after another with this pregnancy. Don't get me wrong, I know that things could be MUCH MUCH worse, but like one of my friends said, "you don't do pregnant very easy". It is true--seems like things always pop up during my pregnancies.
Anyway, to make a long story short, I am going to see a urologist tomorrow to see what, if anything, we should do. So I would appreciate your prays about that. My OB said depending on what the urologist says and finds, they may have to induce me early so they can address the kidney stone. For those of you who know me, I am NOT into being induced, and fought it all the way on my first pregnancy. (I wasn't induced with Tayva, although my doctor wanted to) So, anyway, God has thrown me another curve ball. Good thing is, I know that He is sovereign, and has everything under control.
So, now I feel like I could only have 3 weeks left of this pregnancy , and I have LOTS to get ready! I ordered the double stroller tonight, and am trying to get some "last minute" things done in case this baby comes early. I guess I have more than "last minute" things to do--I have hardly done anything to get ready--guess that's how it is with your second. I have to pull out the changing table, get the newborn clothes out, pack my hospital bag etc. Oh, yeah, I suppose we should come up with a name too!!! :)
Aye, yey, yey

Catch-up
Well, today, I got the bug to clean out my freezers. Actually I HAD to clean out the freezers to make room for incoming food. I am planning on making some freezer meals and snacks for after the baby is born. So, I cleaned both my freezers from top to bottom. I took everything out, defrosted them, scrubbed them down, and re-filled them. I like to use my freezers a lot, and store a lot of food in them. They are completely full of food. So, I am making a rule for the next few weeks that I have to make all my meals from the food I have in my freezers. That way, I can clean out the freezer to make room for the meals I plan on making. Anyway, it felt good to get them defrosted and cleaned.
This weekend, my cousin from Arizona came to town. My aunt and uncle had a "manly" baby shower for him (his wife couldn't come with on the trip, unfortunately). We had a great time!! Tayva loved running around in the yard with the cousin's kids and Bob and her even did some sparklers together. A highlight for me was that my brother did the devotion for the shower. He read an excerpt from a book about the importance of a praying father. Most of us were in tears by the time he was done. It was very touching to hear my brother "charge" my cousin to take the role of being a praying father. It was kind of a full-circle moment. Here were my father and uncle listening to their sons talking about the examples they had been given (to be Godly fathers), and then challenging each other to do the same for their children--what a blessing!! I needed some Kleenex after that one.
We also took Tayva golfing for the first time yesterday. For those of you who know me, know that I am NOT a golfer, although I kinda wish I was. (Just because Bob like it so much) Anyway, we went to a golf course in a little nearby town and had a GREAT time. We rented a cart, had a set of plastic clubs for Tayva, and golfed away. The weather was great and no bugs!! Tayva ran all over the course with Bob, and had fun jumping in and out of the cart as we drove around the course. The whole way home she kept saying "I went golfing!!" It was so cute!
