The wedding

This weekend, we were involved in a wedding. At the ceremony, the pastor delivered a GREAT message. He spoke to the couple, but encourage the audience to play an active role as well, and not to listen as by-standers. He said so many things that were good reminders about marriage. One of the challenges he gave to the couple was to seek opportunities to serve the Lord together. I thought it was so neat. He explained to them that. for their whole lives so far, they have been serving the Lord individually. He encouraged then to continue that, but now they must also seek to serve the Lord TOGETHER. I was convicted when the pastor was talking about that. I think that so often, we get so busy that it is easy to only think about how we personally can serve God, but forget that part of our ministry as Christians is to reach out as a couple also. Bob and I met on a missions trip--we were serving the Lord together. We have worked in Bob's ministry together a lot of times over the years--we were serving the Lord together. I want to make it a priority to continue to serve the Lord together!!

I then got to thinking that I am excited for when our girls get old enough that we can include them in our ministry as well. It will be so exciting to serve the Lord side by side with our daughters.

So, in the coming days, Bob and I will be talking about how we can purposefully serve the Lord together.

I don't know if that makes sense, but it convicted me when I heard the pastor talk about it. It is getting late, and I am already sleep-deprived, so it is a miracle that I can even put 2 sentences together!! ha,ha

A good day!

Well, I got up, and was motivated to get some work done around the house before we headed off to MOPS registration. I got most of my maternity clothes packed away. Now I am in a bind though because my maternity clothes are too big, but my "regular" clothes are still a bit too small--guess I might HAVE to buy some new clothes!! (yeah right--either that or make due with what I have--umm...probably the later) Anyway, MOPS registration was good. The steering team brought food--it was so YUMMY! Tayva had a great time seeing all the other kids.

Siri turned 3 weeks old yesterday--I can't believe it. The time has already gone by so fast! She and Tayva are doing fabulously!

I need some help--I am looking for good, educational videos for Tayva (2 years old). I like to put in about a 30 min video for her while I shower in the morning. Right now, I have Barney etc, and those are good, and she likes them. However, I figure, if she is going to watch a video, it would be good for it to be educational or have Biblical values. She picks up on the songs so fast, that it would be nice to have Biblically based songs etc that she is learning. I have tried BOZ videos, and we really like those. Anybody have any other suggestions????

The Best Gift

Since Siri has been born, my sister-in-law arranged for people from my MOPS group to bring meals to our house, and that has been the best gift anyone could give after having a baby!! The day we brought Siri home from the hospital, my sister-in-law had lasagna in the oven waiting for us, so the house smelled good, and we had a warm meal ready. (let me tell you, I ate that meal like I hadn't eaten anything in weeks!) It was SOOO good. It just really hit the spot.

Since we have been home, we have had 5 meals delivered, and we have 2 more coming this week. I soooo look forward to those meals. It is the highlight of my day--I don't have to try to cook a meal while juggling the kiddos, but I still get a homecooked meal---FABULOUS!!! One night, when we were eating one of the meals, Bob said, "I think this is the best gift you can get after having a baby--a homecooked meal". So, thank you to all of you who brought us a meal!!!! I can't wait for the meal tomorrow!!!!!!!!

Diapers, sleep (or lack of it:), and nursing

I am sorry to report that not much interesting is going on here. (actually, that is a good thing--no excitement is sometimes a good thing :) Our days are filled with a whole lot of changing diapers, nursing, playing with Tayva and trying to maintain a relative functional level of sleep etc. Things will get back in the "swing of things" for us in the next few weeks as Kindermusik, story time, Bible study, and MOPS starts up again. For now, when Siri is so young, I am glad to not have anything on the schedule, but am excited to get back on a schedule too.

Anyway, check out this comment a friend of mine left about Hallmark producing gay-marriage greeting cards. Thought you all would like to know.

Quiet

The other day a good friend of mine took Tayva to the zoo for the morning. It was just Siri and I at home. I couldn't believe how quiet it was without Tayva. I really missed her talking and singing. Don't get me wrong, it was nice to have a quiet house for a few hours, but it made me so much more appreciative of her laughter, singing, and talking.
Siri is doing well. She is sleeping through the night from 8pm- 8am---NOT!! (I just had to throw that in there :) Actually, she is doing really, really well. She really does a good job of sleeping at night. Well, I will update more later, but she is starting to squirm around and letting me know she is getting hungry! Better GO!!
