Garlic, Garlic, Garlic!

Last night I went to a cooking class on healthy pasta and rice. (the first of 2 classes) We talked about how most pastas are slathered in cream sauces or garlic and butter sauces. This of course, makes the pasta dish very heavy and unhealthy. I thought it was amazing because we made 6 pasta dishes last night, and we didn't use any cream or butter!! At the end of class, we HAD to taste test all the different dishes. Plus, we had extra, so we got to take home leftovers too! Just to get your mouth watering, we made three different types of pasta primavera (onion and mushroom, tomato and parsley, and broccoli), Greek pasta, Asian Capellini, and Smokey Rotini. They were all very good!!!
My group was in charge of making two types of pasta primavera. Our recipes called for 16 cloves of garlic (8 for each recipe). In one of my less-than-brilliant moments, I volunteered to peel and mince all the garlic. Well, by the time I got done with all those garlic cloves, I really smelled like garlic!! (I even had a garlic press!) I woke up this morning, and said to Bob, "My hands still smell like garlic". Yep, this afternoon, they STILL smell like garlic! Anybody have any tips on how to get rid of the garlic smell on my hands?
As for next week's class, you can be sure I will not be in charge of getting the garlic ready!! Maybe we won't need as much garlic next week as we will be doing rice, couscous, and other side dishes. Should be interesting!

Mmmm, all that food sounds good! I've heard that rubbing salt or baking soda on your hands should help get rid of the smell. Or if you have any of those sea salt hand scrubs, that may do the trick. Thank goodness you're not pregnant and easily nauseated...??
