Bugs, Bugs, Bugs

I saw the first mosquito today, and also the first bumble bee of the season. The ONLY thing I hate about where we live is all the bugs! We would live in the perfect place with the perfect climate (in my opinion) if it weren't for the bugs. Ticks, spiders, moths, mosquitoes. bees--you name it, we've got it. (OK, so we don't have the poisonous spiders, scorpions, or cockroaches--thank goodness!!) Now it is even harder because I have to act brave around my daughter around all the bugs. (ticks and bees especially get to me--the rest I can live with)

Alrighty then, now that I got that off my chest I feel much better. We had some landscapers come today to remove some of the old, stained rock in our yard. They were using a Bobcat all day long. Tayva's favorite activity of the day was standing at the windows following the Bobcat around yelling, "Hi Bobcat!"

Here is a pregnancy story--we went out to eat tonight, and I could not decide what to order. (The waitress even had to come back to get my order because I just could not decide.) I decided on soup and a sandwich. The soup came first, and I ate that. The sandwich came second, and it didn't seem appetizing to me at all. I ate a bun off my dad's plate, and some of my husband's hashbrowns. Too weird, pregnancy does weird things to your appetite. Usually that type of thing doesn't happen to me though--I'm usually just hungry all the time!!!

That's funny, I can still remember feeling that way at times!

From Andrea,

OK Shaunnn, keep it in mind, this is from your cousin - the amateur entomologist.

Do stay away from Daddy Longlegs. From what I've read and heard - they are poisonous!

Try not to kill to many dragonflies - they eat mosquitoes!!

Maybe I should make a trip and teach Tayva about the delights of insects??

She could hear the story about how I found Monarch butterfly larva on Grampa's milkweed and two giant moths on his garage. Boy could we go exploring!

Sorry if this bugged you and took up too much space.

I am serious about taking Tayva on a little field trip to learn about the fascinating life she can see all around her - the no-no's and fun ones!

Sorry to hear about the food thing. Happy that you're in good health.

Cousin Andrea
