A good day!

Well, I got up, and was motivated to get some work done around the house before we headed off to MOPS registration. I got most of my maternity clothes packed away. Now I am in a bind though because my maternity clothes are too big, but my "regular" clothes are still a bit too small--guess I might HAVE to buy some new clothes!! (yeah right--either that or make due with what I have--umm...probably the later) Anyway, MOPS registration was good. The steering team brought food--it was so YUMMY! Tayva had a great time seeing all the other kids.

Siri turned 3 weeks old yesterday--I can't believe it. The time has already gone by so fast! She and Tayva are doing fabulously!

I need some help--I am looking for good, educational videos for Tayva (2 years old). I like to put in about a 30 min video for her while I shower in the morning. Right now, I have Barney etc, and those are good, and she likes them. However, I figure, if she is going to watch a video, it would be good for it to be educational or have Biblical values. She picks up on the songs so fast, that it would be nice to have Biblically based songs etc that she is learning. I have tried BOZ videos, and we really like those. Anybody have any other suggestions????

While it may seem old-fashioned to us adults, Sesame Street is still the best thing out there! Lovable characters, a continual storyline, images that change every 15 seconds to hold a toddler's attention, and it totally keeps up on the current state of the world. Not to mention it's on twice a day and available 24/7 if you have on-demand cable. Seriously, I have been a mom for nearly 9 years and discovered you just can't beat the original.

Veggie Tales are always good one! I like the ones that encourage Biblical values, but aren't the Bible stories themselves. They sometimes mix a couple of stories together, or change the story quite a bit.

Our church library has a bunch of great videos and dvds. You could check them out and find her favorites.

Safe Side Superchick is not Biblical, but I think it is a must for young kids. It teaches stranger safety in a fun, nonthreatening, relevant way.

Well, I agree with all of the above...my kids also like the Action Bible Songs DVD or the Sunday School Songs DVD that you can buy at the local christian store. They are really CORNY and were made in the 80's but Eva loves singing along and doing all of the actions! Also, Leap Frogs, the Letter Factory...that's all I can think of right now!

Hey just stopped by and glad I did. I have some wonderful recommendations for you!

Have you tried any of the PraiseBaby Dvd's? Wonderful!!!! They are very calming and a sweet spirit of peace can fill the home. I have put these on during a tantrum and the whole home regains peace (including myself). It truly is a wonderful thing. My big girls will be in another room singing along with the praise/worship songs.

Hide 'Em in My Heart...an older one...but excellent. Put out by Steven Curtis Champman. It is kids singing Bible verses as songs. My girls still sing those verses. They always loved watching the kids on those...and both videos have children in them. I think that captivates their attention.

I hands down recommend both of these. PraiseBaby has a whole set of DVD's. I think you'd really like them. Perfect for her age.

Hope this helps...let me know if you have any other questions.
